New stock, young planting and the Brush Creek bottom
More about lighting in Cranberry Township, PA
Cranberry was settled in 1796 and incorporated in 1804, taking its name from the wild cranberries that grew along the banks of Brush Creek. The numbers since then tell the story. There were 479 residents in 1870 and still only 3,596 as recently as 1960.
The 2020 census counted 33,087 across 22.83 square miles, with an estimate of 33,955 by 2022 and a density of 1,450 people per square mile. There were 1,180 residents by 1880, so the township took roughly a hundred and forty years to add its first three thousand people and thirty to add the last thirty thousand.
Most of what stands here was therefore built within living memory, and new stock behaves differently under light than old stock does. Large unbroken planes of siding or brick give a grazing beam nothing to catch, so texture lighting falls flat on them.
What works instead is massing: the gable returns, the entry recess, the change of plane where one volume meets another. A recent house is read by its geometry rather than by its surface.
Planting on a recently built lot is usually younger than the house. Small trees and low shrubs cannot conceal a fixture or provide a canopy to light down from, so the layout has to work at ground level now while leaving room for what the planting becomes. Fixtures set for a five-foot shrub end up buried inside a fifteen-foot one, and the plan that lasts is the one drawn for the second condition as well as the first.
Brush Creek drains the township, and low ground near a watercourse holds water longest. That is a design constraint before it is anything else, because the lowest corner of a property is often the one people most want lit and it is also the least forgiving place on the lot for anything electrical. Where the wet corner is genuinely the view, the reliable answer is to light it from higher, drier ground and let the beam travel.
Interstate 79 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike cross here, with US Route 19 and Route 228 as the arterials. Cranberry is a place people drive through as much as they live in, and the residential consequence is ambient light from the corridors. Contrast is what makes a lit garden register, so where the background is already bright the answer is less light placed more precisely, not more of it.
The median age was 35.96 years as of 2016 and the township runs three municipal parks at Cranberry, North Boundary and Graham, alongside a weekly Town Square Market through the summer and an annual Community Days. Households at that stage use the outside of a house across the whole year, for a garden in June and a lit approach in January, and a scheme built only for summer entertaining feels half-finished for the other six months. The township also runs a waterpark, an eighteen-hole golf course and a public library, so a good deal of local life here happens outdoors and after work.

Cranberry Township FAQ
Landscape lighting questions in Cranberry Township
How much does landscape lighting cost in Cranberry Township, PA?
A Cranberry Township price comes from a design sized to the home and the lot, and on a newer subdivision house that design follows the massing and the entry. Our complimentary on-site consultation comes first, and you get an exact price before any work begins.
Do you install landscape lighting throughout Butler County?
Yes. Cranberry Township is in Butler County, where Interstate 79 meets the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and we design, install and service low-voltage LED landscape lighting across the county, Butler included. It sits inside the three-state area we cover from Ohio down into West Virginia.
How long does a landscape lighting installation take in Cranberry Township, PA?
Cranberry Township covers 22.8 square miles and counted 33,087 residents in 2020, which makes it one of the fastest-growing areas near Pittsburgh. Across a township that big, yards range widely, so an installation can take from one day to one month depending on scale. We confirm the schedule after the on-site consultation and before work begins.
Do you service landscape lighting systems in Cranberry Township after installation?
Yes. Planting on a newer Cranberry Township lot keeps growing into the fixtures, so seasonal re-aiming matters here, along with bulb replacement and transformer checks. Workmanship on every landscape system we install is covered for 24 months.
