Christmas Lighting in Steubenville
Christmas light rental for Steubenville, design to January takedown
Renting fits the Ohio Valley winter. You are not on a ladder in a Steubenville January, and you are not finding room in the garage for tangled strands in July.
We handle the design, the install, the mid-season fixes, and the takedown. If you want the roofline outlined, the walkway trees wrapped, or the porch framed, we build the plan around your house and the parts of it that read best from the street. Steubenville leans all the way into Christmas. The Nutcracker Village has filled Fort Steuben Park and the downtown blocks with life-size nutcrackers every season since 2015. Our Christmas lighting is a full rental, built for people who want that look on their own house without owning or storing a thing. We design the display for your roofline and yard, install commercial-grade lights in season, and come back to service anything that fails during the cold months. When the season ends we take it all down in January and store it until next year. The Nutcracker Village is free and open around the clock in Fort Steuben Park. The Advent Market adds live entertainment, local artisans and hot food and drink every weekend in December. Steubenville covers 10.63 square miles on the Western Allegheny Plateau, spreading west from the Ohio River floodplain to the hills around it. The climate is humid continental, with hot summers, relatively cold winters and rain or snow spread evenly through the year. On a hillside lot the house sits at a different height than on the flats by the river, and the digital mockup in the quote shows how the plan reads on yours. Fort Steuben was built in 1786 and 1787 to protect government surveyors mapping the land west of the Ohio River, and the settlement that grew around it took the name Steubenville. The fort has been rebuilt on its original site on South Third Street, overlooking the river, in Fort Steuben Park. Next to it stands the First Federal Land Office, which still has its original logs from 1801. Jefferson County was organized on July 29, 1797, and Bezaleel Wells and James Ross platted the town that same year. Steubenville was mostly a river port in the early nineteenth century, and it received a city charter in 1851. In 1856 a rolling mill, the forerunner of the steel mills, and a coal shaft opened, and the city lay on a railroad line that connected Pittsburgh to Chicago and St. Louis. The North End Neighborhood Historic District follows North Fourth Street from Dock Street to Franklin Avenue, and the Steubenville Commercial Historic District lies around Washington, Court, Market and Third streets. The Market Street Bridge, listed in 2019, extends into Brooke County, West Virginia. More than 25 murals downtown earned the city its nickname, the City of Murals.More about lighting in Steubenville, OH

Frequently asked questions
Earlier is better, and in Steubenville the Nutcracker Village generally opens the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. We provide them. Lights and decorations are custom and commercial-grade, you pick from them, and design, installation, maintenance, removal and storage are part of the job. For any Steubenville home we keep your lights and decor in storage between seasons.
Call us and we come back out. Pittsburgh, 33 miles east of Steubenville, averages 44.1 inches of snow a season, so a dark strand mid-season is worth a call. Maintenance is part of the job, not an extra, and it sits next to installation, removal and storage under Complete Care.
Removal starts after January 1st and runs into February, weather depending, and we take down the lights and decor and store your set until the next season. Steubenville's Nutcracker Village generally ends on Epiphany Sunday in early January, and Pittsburgh's record low of minus 22 degrees came on January 19, 1994, so the weather picks the day.
There is no flat price. A Steubenville display is quoted for the individual home, with digital mockups plus terms and conditions, and a 50% deposit secures your spot once you approve. Most homeowners spend roughly $800 to $2,000 with us for a season, depending on the size of the home and how much of it is lit, so call (234) 759-3333 or request a free consultation.
