Christmas Lighting in Fairmont
Christmas light rental and installation in Fairmont
Our Christmas lighting is a full-service rental, not a product you buy. We supply commercial-grade lights, design the display for your home, install everything, keep it running through the season, take it all down in January, and store it until next year. We handle the climb and the clips, and because the lights come back each season, the display can grow or change from one year to the next without you owning boxes of tangled strands in the garage.
More about lighting in Fairmont, WV
A rental covers the roofline, and it can extend to porch columns, railings, walkways, and the trees along the front. If a bulb or a section fails mid-season, we come out and fix it, so the display stays whole through the holidays and into the new year. When the season ends, we pull everything down, pack it, and take it with us, which spares you the January teardown in cold weather.
Fairmont's own weather record shows its snowiest season at 77.4 inches in 1950 to 1951 and its lightest at 12.0 inches in 1918 to 1919. Removal on a Fairmont home is always weather depending.
Fairmont starts its season early. The Marion County Historical Society's Holiday Historic Homes Tour is held the Saturday after Thanksgiving with homes decorated for the holidays, and the Celebration of Lights drive-through at Morris Park opened on November 29 in 2025 and ran on select dates into late December.
Boaz Fleming bought a 254 acre farm on the west side of the Monongahela River in 1789, and in 1817 his sons began clearing part of it for a new town, which became downtown Fairmont. The town was founded in 1819 as Middletown, about halfway between Morgantown and Clarksburg, the year a road was built between them. It took the name Fairmont for the fair mount of its river overlook after Marion County's borders were set in 1842.
Fairmont grew with coal and the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Between 1891 and 1901 the city grew about sevenfold, and by 1901 it was the leading center of the coal trade in northern West Virginia, with about 10,000 workers in the mines around it.
A fire on April 2, 1876 destroyed much of the business district. The old mine workings under the city later crumbled, and by 1978 land subsidence was a problem that took federal money to fix.
The Fairmont Downtown Historic District, listed in 1995, has 97 contributing buildings from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The Marion County Courthouse at Adams and Jefferson streets is Beaux-Arts, built from 1897 to 1900. The Fleming-Watson Historic District has 365 buildings in styles from 1850 to 1951, and the High Level Bridge carries Jefferson Street over the Monongahela.

Early booking helps. When you approve the quote and send the 50% deposit, your spot is held and the house joins our installation list.
Fairmont winters swing, with warm Gulf air pushing temperatures above 50 degrees about six times each January. Your installation date comes by text, followed by an alert when we are on the way.
The lights come from us. In Fairmont you choose from commercial-grade lights and decor, and design, installation, maintenance through the season, removal and storage ride along with the job, so the ladders, the handling and the storage stay with us.
Phone us and we return to fix it, because maintenance through the season is part of the job and never an extra. Fairmont averages 3.2 sub-zero mornings each winter, and its record low is minus 21 degrees, set on January 21, 1994.
Removal begins after January 1st and carries into February, weather depending. Most of Fairmont's winter precipitation falls as rain, because cold air is dry, and warm spells top 50 degrees more than eight days in both December and February. Then the lights and decor go into storage until next season.
No flat price here, and quotes are written house by house. A Fairmont quote carries digital mockups and the terms and conditions, a 50% deposit secures the spot after approval, and the balance is settled when installation ends. The city charter of 1899 absorbed Palatine, also called East Side, and West Fairmont, and homes differ across those parts of town.
Most homeowners spend roughly $800 to $2,000 for a season. Request a free consultation, or call (234) 759-3333, and Luke will phone you about the house.
